Bush fire Support Social Fundraiser

February 1, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm UTC+8

Join us for a night of music, networking and community at The Irish Club in support of the NSW and Victoria Bushfires.

It’s clear to see that bushfire-affected communities across Australia need our help now.
More than 8 million hectares have been burnt in the devastating bushfires, affecting hundreds of rural communities, farmers and livelihoods, not to mention the devastating loss of wildlife during this time.

Many business owners across Victoria and NSW have been affected. Some through loss of premises and stock, drop in sales due to tourism or simply being unable to work due to crisis that has unfolded over the past 2 months. Relief is not just required to support immediate needs but long term rebuilding and sustainability of these communities.

District32 is hosting a community networking sundowner in support of the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal.

The road to recovery for these communities is long, with varied and complex challenges unique to each town. These communities will need your support long after the smoke clears, and the emergency relief money is expended. That’s where FRRR comes in. FRRR makes grants to local not-for-profit groups for community-led projects that address the most pressing needs that emerge 12-18 months after a disaster event. Supporting community leaders to implement what they need in their community. It could be support for fatigued volunteer leaders, repairing vital community infrastructure or ensuring psychological support is available when it is most needed.

We love the sense of community spirit amongst our members and followers in WA and we look forward to sharing our support through this fundraiser to the affected communities in NSW and VIC.

  • The Blockchain Blues Band
  • Craic “N” On – Mainstream/Rock/Folk
  • 3. Tommy, Russell and Anthony – Folk/traditional

All ticket sales, donations and silent auction proceeds will be donated to the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal – Food and drinks are available to purchase on the night.

FRRR – Your contribution will make a real difference

Local leaders know what will make the biggest difference at times like these. But their isolation and small size make it hard for communities to raise the funds they need at the best of times, let alone in the worst of times, like now.
Our special tax status means funds reach grassroots community organisations in country Australia who often miss out on support.
FRRR has a long history of supporting disaster preparedness and assisting affected communities to recover. Since 2006, FRRR has distributed more than $19 million in grants to communities amidst their recovery from natural disasters.

Charity registered with and regulated by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), you can give confidently, knowing that we are a trusted and accredited organisation.
